The Balada Nej Trophy, is the biggest event in Europe that brings together Culinary Junior Chefs from all over Europe to compete in a hot kitchen competition over 2 days. chefmalta is invited to represent Malta in this event, with a team of 2 junior chefs and a mentor. chefmalta is extending the invitation to all young student chefs who would like to join us, to experience this event with us.
20th September 2012 - Flight Malta to Bucharest
21st September 2012 – arrival Bucharest (OTP), transfer by coach to Constanta, dirict to hotel, and welcome dinner at 20.00
22nd September 2012 – starting with 9.00 o’clock, in 5 equipped kitchens, the teams will start the first program: a Romanian traditional menu, consisting in 2 services, 1 main course + 1 dessert, for 2 persons.
90 minutes are allowed for cooking and cleaning. 1 menu will be tested by judges, 1 menu will be provided for exhibition. The recipes will be provided shortly after your confirmation by the organizers.
More emphasis on skills, mise-en-place, correct preparation, presentation and taste.
Each team will be free to present the dishes on it’s own imagination.
23rd September 2012 – starting with 9.00 o’clock, the teams will start the second program: preparing a national dish of 2 services (main course and desert) for 2 persons.
